Hi everyone, I’m Joshua Sim. Also known as the “Josh of all trades, master of some”. Yeah, I have way too many hobbies and interests for my own good. Just call me Josh. I’m based in New Zealand.
This website is designed for you to get to know me better. And hopefully, I’ll get to know you better too. The following is a list of things I can do for you.
… work with you
I’m currently studying a Masters in Organisational Psychology, and I previously attained a Bachelor in Business specialising in Human Resources (with Honors). My top skills are anything Human Resource related.
If you need help with any part of the employment journey, from recruitment to performance management, even health & safety, and psychometrics, I’m your man. These are my most highly prized skills because they are what keep me fed.
… speak with you
I’ve been a professional emcee part-time for 9 years and a public speaking coach part-time for 5 years. I don’t consider myself to be that great a speaker, but I do consider myself highly adept at teaching public speaking to anyone. Because of my lack of inborn talent in speaking, and the struggles I went through to be a competent show host, I can relate better to most people who have difficulties in public speaking.
I’ve mainly trained middle schoolers to university students. If you need help with public speaking, come talk to me. I can always do coaching via Skype.
… have fun with you
My hobbies are:
- Learning something new everyday
- Video Games
- Digital Art & Photomanipulation
- Books & Storytelling
… just to name a few. I guess there isn’t much of a link between each of the hobbies, but that makes my life interesting. Occasionally, I’ll post things up on this blog related to these hobbies. If you have hobbies similar to mine, let’s have a chat!
… share my thoughts with you
The blog portion of this site will mainly be populated with my book reviews. It’s the most common thing I can bring myself to write about these days. I read and review both fiction and nonfiction. I’ll be telling you what books are good to read and why. I’m mostly into science fiction and fantasy for fiction novels. I’m usually read business, finance and self-improvement books for nonfiction.
Occasionally, I will also put up content based on my other hobbies, public speaking help and my thoughts on business topics.
You can take a look at the blog here.
At the same time, I run Rational Comics. We take business and entrepreneurship knowledge and transform it into a comic form. The idea is to teach business concepts in an easier, more memorable way. We have 150K+ views a year; you should consider taking a look too. You might just learn something from reading our comics.
